Overview

Connect anything anywhere

BeeOS is a scalable and flexible IoT platform for distributed connectivity and remote deployment of workloads. It enables seamless integration of services using a diverse range of protocols and can be deployed in a variety of environments, from cloud to edge.

Designed as an end-to-end data pipeline, the platform translates between protocols, collects data from local or remote environments, transforms and organizes information, and delivers integrated storage and visualization capabilities. It brings computation and intelligence to where the data is generated, enabling code workloads and AI-driven processing to run even in remote or constrained environments for real-time decision-making.

Distributed collectors and actuators can be deployed wherever they are needed — at the edge or in the cloud — and remotely provisioned and managed from a centralized control panel, enabling scalable and unified operations across the entire infrastructure.

Core concepts

BeeOS is built around two fundamental elements that define how work is executed and coordinated across the platform. Hive nodes and Bee agents.

Bee agents are responsible for performing the actual work within the system. They are lightweight, distributed components that can connect to external systems, interpret industrial or cloud protocols, collect and process data, run custom workloads, and execute automation or AI-driven tasks. A wide variety of agent types are available, each designed to fulfill specific roles within distributed environments.

The Hive acts as the orchestration layer that coordinates groups of bee agents. It manages agent provisioning, configuration deployment, and lifecycle operations while providing a communication bus that enables agents to exchange messages and data in a structured and scalable way.

The platform delivers a powerful catalog of agents that connect systems, process data, and run distributed workloads, while the open Bee Core SDK allows developers to create and extend new agents without limits.

Open by design. Built to connect everything — designed to be extended by anyone

A centralized control plane service delivers full lifecycle management of agents — from provisioning and monitoring to remote configuration and distributed workload deployment across edge and cloud.

Within BeeOS, a Hive can operate either as a central root server that supervises the entire fleet or as a local node deployed at the edge to connect nearby Bee agents and process data close to its source.

These hive nodes can interconnect with one another and with remote agents, forming a distributed Hive Mesh. The mesh enables secure communication even in limited or intermittent connectivity environments, ensuring messages are buffered and synchronized without data loss while maintaining local autonomy and scalable expansion
